Mockingjay movie review.

Calling all tributes and mockingjays!.
This week in honour of Mockingjay coming out last week on friday I will be sharing  my review of MockingJay part one with you!.

Last week on opening night I went with a group of friends to see Mockingjay part one, before it even came out I would see trailers on the TV and each time i would get chills and I have to say part one defiently gave me chills throughout the movie!. Jennifer Lawrense who plays our heroine Katniss Everdeen was amazing, she was able convay Katniss's PTSD perfectly as well as her current state of mind. In the movie we were able to see how the games affected Katniess as well as loosing Peeta to the captial. We were able to see her deep love for her sister Prim, her love for her best friend Gale as well as Finnick and her mother. As the movie progressed we were able to see the other distacts uprising againest the captial and the captials reaction. Thoughout the movie I was always on the edge of my seat and I even shed a few tears. The movie stayed true to the book and even allowed us to see things that weren't in the book like Peeta, Joanna and Annie's rescue which was amazing!. I was really impressed with the animations as well as the use of the green screen. What impressed me the most was Jennifer's acting as well as Cinna's mockingjay suit for Katniss. The mockingjay suit was just like I had imagined it when I first read MockingJay.
In the end Mockingjay was amazing and I wish I could see it over and over because I just loved it so much!. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes Divergent, The Maze Runner, Delirum, City Of Bones.

Run boy run. The Maze Runner- Book review

The Maze Runner

Have you ever wondered what songs would fit the book?. Check out this link. The Maze Runner book playlist

Throughout the book I kept comparing it to the movie because I saw it first (normally read the book before I see the movie) but in this case I didn't. I have to say I wish I had read it before seeing the movie. The book kept me on my toes because there were changes I didn't see coming. I found that I couldn't put the book down when I first started it which I loved , the book was exciting and I really enjoyed the dialogue between the characters especially the hints that Thomas and Theresa were more than friends before arriving to the glade. I can't wait to read the scorch trials!. Fans of this
Series refer to themselves as Gladers or Runners. They understand the language the characters use in the books. The book uses words like shank, crank, newbie , greenie to describe various actions or people. I think this fandom is really cool because you don't really hear that type of language these days and it's fun to interact with people who you find out are invloved in that fandom as well as freak out over the casting choices for the movie as well as the things that the director changed in the movie or left out. Overall I think The Maze Runner was really good and people who did not like it should try reading it again.
I would definitely recommend this book to someone who has read Enders Game,The Hunger Games trilogy ,Divergent, Cinder and Delirum.

Struck

"> Check out the playlist.

                                     Struck by Jennifer Bosworth

Whenever I go to chapters I take a stroll  past the bargain books, sometimes I find my next favourite author next favourite series. This time I went and saw the book Struck by Jennifer Bosworth, when it came out and I read the synopsis I was immediately hooked and wanted to buy it but by the time I was unable to go to a chapters, then  I had long forgotten about buying it, but that day I saw it on the bargain books shelf I picked it up forgetting that I had wanted to read it, as I was reading the inside cover I was hooked and proceeded to go to the cash to buy it.

Set in post apocalyptic Los Angeles, Mia Price is a lightning addict and she has survived each time she has been struck but with each strike she becomes more addicted to the power of storms and crave their energy to become connected with them once again. But lurking in the cracks of a broken up L.A there is a power struggle between the prophet and his followers and the seekers who are lead by Mia's Highschool teacher. Little does Mia know about her destiny and why she’s attracted to lightning storms and also the underground war that is happening between the Prophet and his followers and the Seekers? Each side wants Mia but will she choose whom she settles her loyalties with or will she go her own way and chose her love for her family over the fate of L.A?

When I first started reading Struck I found Mia to be really annoying when she described what she did daily but as I got deeper into the book I understand why her day was so detailed. Each time I turned the page I started reading faster and before I knew it was hallway through the book. Currently I am still reading it and I love how L.A is described because it had been destroyed by a very powerful earthquake, when we talk about L.A in todays time we see it has a city that is filled with bright lights and huge buildings and beautiful buildings but in the book L.A has been destroyed, many of the towers and roads have been broken do to the shifting of the earths plates. At 9:07 tonight I finished Struck, As I passed the halfway point which lead me to finishing it I found the religion  aspect of the book to become more dominate towards the end which I didn't like because I wanted to find out what would happen to the main character Mia and her final decision but after finishing it I found that the religion did play a key role in helping Mia realize her destiny and save L.A. In the end I think Struck was very well placed, the characters were very believable because there are things we want to hide from the people around us and different religions and beliefs surround us all the time and also the fate of the world, I was also shocked to find out that Jeremy was the Prophets son but I kind of had a feeling that he was but was not sure but when I did read that part I was defiantly shocked! In this book Jennifer Bosworth has made me realize that no matter what we try to do we can't hide from our true natures and our true selves without becoming lost in a lie, at one point in Struck the prophet brainwashed Mia and taking away her scars  (that she had gotten each time she had been struck by lightning) and having her believe that she has her mother back and that she has the perfect life, but all of that was a lie she is then woken up from the dream from and the help from her now boyfriend Jeremy and also her old self the one that had been buried when the prophet had brainwashed her. In other words if you want to read a book with a strong female lead read this book because this main character doesn't need to rely on anyone to come out on top and also changes her fate.
