Mockingjay movie review.

Calling all tributes and mockingjays!.
This week in honour of Mockingjay coming out last week on friday I will be sharing  my review of MockingJay part one with you!.

Last week on opening night I went with a group of friends to see Mockingjay part one, before it even came out I would see trailers on the TV and each time i would get chills and I have to say part one defiently gave me chills throughout the movie!. Jennifer Lawrense who plays our heroine Katniss Everdeen was amazing, she was able convay Katniss's PTSD perfectly as well as her current state of mind. In the movie we were able to see how the games affected Katniess as well as loosing Peeta to the captial. We were able to see her deep love for her sister Prim, her love for her best friend Gale as well as Finnick and her mother. As the movie progressed we were able to see the other distacts uprising againest the captial and the captials reaction. Thoughout the movie I was always on the edge of my seat and I even shed a few tears. The movie stayed true to the book and even allowed us to see things that weren't in the book like Peeta, Joanna and Annie's rescue which was amazing!. I was really impressed with the animations as well as the use of the green screen. What impressed me the most was Jennifer's acting as well as Cinna's mockingjay suit for Katniss. The mockingjay suit was just like I had imagined it when I first read MockingJay.
In the end Mockingjay was amazing and I wish I could see it over and over because I just loved it so much!. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes Divergent, The Maze Runner, Delirum, City Of Bones.

The Girl on fire grew her wings.

In

honour of mockingjay part one coming out this Friday I will be doing a review of the book. This book belongs to the hunger games fandom. This fandom revolves around Katniss Everdeen a 16 year old girl who volunteeres to take her sister Prim's place in the 74th Hunger Games. In the last two books Katniss along with Peeta are forced to go to the arena and compete  with the other tributes from the twelve districts that make up Panam. People who are fans of this fandom refer to themsevles as tributes or rebels. I am a part of this Fandom even though I am not a active member. Honestly when i first read this series I had no idea what i was getting myself into i would talk about the book to my friends and even strangers because i loved it so much and i still do.

In the book Mockingjay Katniss along with Finnick and Beetee are recused from the arena in the book Catching Fire and are adjusting to their new lives in the newly but secretly found distract 13. Katniss is getting use to her new but unwanted role as their mockingjay and also dealing with PTSD from the past two games,Peeta becoming hijacked by the capital and rising feelings for her best friend Gale.

I can't lie i have read this book more than once and each time I have read this book i have fallen more in love with some of the charcters like Finnick, Peeta , Katniss, Annie and Haymitch. When I first read this book i have to say I whipped through it because i just had to find out what would happen to our beloved Mockingjay. While reading it for the first time it kept me on my toes and it made me feel 3 emotions that would include anger, sadness and happiness it also made me want to throw the book at one point because it made me angry and that was the best part, I find that i enjoy books better if they make me either want to dance from happiness or throw it on the floor and this book did both.

When reading it for the second time i started to realize that the theme of the books was related to the holocast because people are killed every year because of a rebellion that happend many years ago and during the holocast jews were sentacted to death or to work where they eventually died and this happend in the books even though it wasn't to the same degree as the holocast was. Presidant Snow was basically created to repersent Hitler and the things he had done. So in conclusion i really enjoyed reading mockingjay even though i found the ending just fizzeld out.

Run boy run. The Maze Runner- Book review

The Maze Runner

Have you ever wondered what songs would fit the book?. Check out this link. The Maze Runner book playlist

Throughout the book I kept comparing it to the movie because I saw it first (normally read the book before I see the movie) but in this case I didn't. I have to say I wish I had read it before seeing the movie. The book kept me on my toes because there were changes I didn't see coming. I found that I couldn't put the book down when I first started it which I loved , the book was exciting and I really enjoyed the dialogue between the characters especially the hints that Thomas and Theresa were more than friends before arriving to the glade. I can't wait to read the scorch trials!. Fans of this
Series refer to themselves as Gladers or Runners. They understand the language the characters use in the books. The book uses words like shank, crank, newbie , greenie to describe various actions or people. I think this fandom is really cool because you don't really hear that type of language these days and it's fun to interact with people who you find out are invloved in that fandom as well as freak out over the casting choices for the movie as well as the things that the director changed in the movie or left out. Overall I think The Maze Runner was really good and people who did not like it should try reading it again.
I would definitely recommend this book to someone who has read Enders Game,The Hunger Games trilogy ,Divergent, Cinder and Delirum.

Movie to book differences of The Maze Runner by James Dashner

The Maze Runner movie to book Comparison

I
n this review I will be comparing the movie the Maze Runner to the book by James Dashner.

Brief Summery
When Thomas wakes up in a moving metal box with no memory of who he is he's immediately scared and tries to find a way out of the box. When reaching the destination the box opens and Thomas finds himself surrounded by groups of boys aged 13-20 who have no memories of who they were before arriving. The boys call themselves the gladers and that where they are is called the Glade and that there is a maze and only the runners can go in. The glade is a circular area with 3 ways of leaving; the first way is dying the second way is choosing to go off the cliff or lastly going into the ever-changing maze and possibly finding a way out as long as you don't get killed first by the grievers. Grievers are bug like creatures that sting people who cross their path, if stung the victim begins to go crazy but also recover some memories of their past life before arriving in the Glade.  As Thomas spends more time with the boys his curiosity spikes more and more and finds himself asking more and more questions each day and only getting a few answers in return. A day after Thomas's arrival a girl arrives with a note that reads, " This is the last one ever". The gladers immediately blame Thomas because since his arrival things have changed, the grievers are coming out during the day and other Gladers are becoming more curious by the day. Will Thomas and his fellow gladers find a way out of the maze? Or will they stay in the glade?

Normally when a book to movie adaption is made into a movie I always try and read the book before the movie comes to theaters because in most cases the movie will leave out or change parts in movie that were in the book originally. In this case I saw the movie before I read the book. Currently I am reading the book and since starting the book I have noticed that when the movie was created and finalized they made a few changes in the following points, these are some of the many changes I have noticed since starting the book.
  •  Gally was never said to be stung in the movie, but in the book he had been.

  •    Teresa was only able to communicate with Thomas by telepathy, in the movie Teresa communicates orally.

  • Theresa brought two vials with her to the Gladers in the movie but not the book, in the book the Gladers already had the serum

  • In the book the Gladers had modern day technology like microwaves and stoves. In the movie they did not have those things instead the box delivered things the boys needed

  •  In the book there was the main house but not in the movie

  • Gally never got mad at Minho in the movie but in the book he flipped putt at him.
In the movie Gally flipped out at Thomas.

  • Frypan was a supporting character in the book but in the movie he was not seen.

  • Gally doesn't surrender to a

Griver in the movie but does in the book
  •  In the movie there is no cliff also the exit from the maze is a small rectangle but in the movie is a huge circular hole that is in one the mazes walls.

  • In the movie Alby is taken by a Griver when they first attacked but not willingly but in the book he sacrifices his life for his friends the third or fourth time the Grievers attacked

Conclusion.

Since getting to the halfway mark in the book the movie has pretty much stayed true to the book with only a few changes, some large and some small, in the end I wish I had read the book before seeing the movie, but in-fact the movie did say true to book but only mostly for the first half of the book, I really liked Dashner’s idea for the book as well as his characters and the dialogue he used. It was refreshing to read a author who uses contractions as well as words you often don't hear like the word shank used to describe a person instead of a limb. I would recommend this book to anyone who has read the Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins, Divergent by Veronica Roth, I Am Number Four Series by Pitticus Lore as well as Percy Jackson and the Olympian’s series. People whoike the books by James Dashner refer to themselves as Gladers, runners or shanks. Those words are used in the fandom to describe people who like the books , and fans of the books will understand references e.g calling someone else a shank or asking if you are Glader, as well as asking if you have been stung by a Griver (acting crazy).
